Our third grade reading buddies wrote directions for making a snowman to be just like theirs. Kindergarten kids followed written directions carefully to complete their own snowman. Our kids really gave it everything. It was beautiful to see their the effort in their eyes, and the humor when they were watching the 3rd graders’ frustration in realizing an important piece of information was left out. This turned out to be a powerful learning activity for both groups.
